ASCOmAI is the Atlanta Single Cell Omics and Analytics Initiative. We are a consortium of researchers at three Atlanta Universities – Emory University, Georgia Tech, and Morehouse School of Medicine – who share interests in all aspects of single cell genomics. These include RNA and DNA sequencing, and epigenomic profiling, of isolated cells as well as spatial profiling of tissue sections; development and application of advanced analytical methods; and software and single cell atlas development. Our interests range from fundamental biomedical research in cardiology, immunology, oncology and neurology, to evolutionary and ecological genomics, and back to clinical translational science.
The main objectives of ASCOmAI are to :
Expand the scope and volume of single cell omics research in Atlanta
Promote the wide-ranging initiatives at Emory, Georgia Tech, and Morehouse
Provide the single cell community with experimental and analytical resources
Foster collaborative research engaging advanced analytics
Help with the training of the next generation of omics biologists
Explore clinical and translational possibilities for single cell protocols
Enable a diverse and inclusive workforce in the growing field
We greatly acknowledge the support of the Office of the Dean of the Emory School of Medicine, the Executive Vice President for Research at Georgia Tech, the Morehouse School of Medicine, and Emory University Department of Pediatrics.
